TwitWall, Twitters New Little Sister

Monday, November 3rd, 2008 | No Comments »

Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you probably have heard of the social website with the funny name, Twitter.

Every internet marketer and his dog is using it and so should you. But, the functionality of Twitter has been limiting until recently.

Twitter allowed you to post 140 odd character notes to people you have added to your followers list. The followers list is similar to Facebooks and Myspace friends list.

Anyway, Twitter allows you as a marketer to attract followers and then chat with them via a small text interface at the top of your Twitter webpage. You can add what ever you want in the text form as long as it’s no longer than 140 characters.

Now this is fantastic! I write 140 character posts 6 times a day telling all my followers what i am up to at the time. But, you can’t put in too much details with only 140 characters.

That’s were TwitWall comes in. TwitWall allows you unlimited characters and infact you can add links, videos, images and unlike your Twitter account, you can add links to your websites in your personal profile.

This is a Godsend for us internet marketers. You would be abloody fool if you didn’t have a Twitter account and a TwitWall account. Both services are owned by the same company and can be maintained from the same profile.

Check out my Twitter account and add me as a follower and then have a look at my TwitWal as well.

Backlinks Made Easy With Bog Comments

Monday, October 20th, 2008 | 6 Comments »

As a pro-active webmaster, you should always be looking for good opportunities to get Backlinks. Backlinks being links back to your website from another, using a keyword phrase applicable to your site and those backlinks perform much, much better, if they are one way links.

Reciprocal links used to work, but in 2008, one way and three way links are the only way to go. I suppose I had better tell you what a one way and three way links are.

One way links: are links that come from another site were you are not obligated to link back to them in a two way method.

Three Way Link: is when you link as site A links to site B.  Site B links to site C, while site C links back to site A

Google especially, will reward you when you use one way and three way linking straegies on your site/s. Google in it’s search for rewarding quality websites with higher rankings, has worked out that anyone can ask someone to link to them, in return for a reciprocal link. However, getting a one way link from another site in most cases meant that if someone was linking to you, it must mean that, that site thinks that your site offered something worthy for thier visitors.

Making a Full Time Income Online?

Saturday, October 18th, 2008 | 2 Comments »

The Two Biggest Reasons Why Most People Will Never Make a Full-Time Income Online…

It all starts when some well-meaning (yet misdirected) person encourages a budding internet entrepreneur to “start in a niche they know alot about”, or base their business around “something they’re passionate about”…

As horrible as it may sound - they’ve unknowingly sent the hopeful entrepreneur down a path of false expectations, poor results and eventually - failure. In fact, the myth of “do what you love and the money will follow” has been responsible for more failure than likely any other influence - perhaps even more so than laziness or a lack of perseverance.

Because the simple truth of the matter is that the only way you’re going to make real money on the net is if your business is based around two crucial things:

1) Large Demand

2) Buyers

In other words - you aren’t going to get rich selling a $15 ebook about growing square watermelons - even though that might be a great passion of yours.
The demand just isn’t there. Maybe there’s a few searches a day on Google for the topic, and perhaps there’s some interest in the online “gardening enthusiast” communities - but you’d be hard-pressed to make even a few hundred dollars a month from ebook sales.
